Pokémon Legends: Arceus is an adventure role-playing game that retains the primary gameplay of previous entries in the main storyline. The player is free to travel the game landscape, which is separated into five big zones with various ecosystems.
When the player visits such locations, they spawn in a camp and may quickly move to other settlements in the same area. In addition to walking over the terrain, the player may obtain rideable Pokémon that could go quicker, swim over waterbodies, scale through cliffs, or fly.
Wild Pokemon may attack and hurt the player character, causing them to go unconscious and return at the trail head if they suffer enough damage.
